Curriculum Development
Learning a foreign language successfully depends on many variables. One of the most important is the structure of the learning experience. What is that structure exposing the student to? Is the course designed to refresh, maintain or to enhance the students’ current ability? In which areas of the language? Our faculty is comprised of subject matter experts in designing all-skills or skill-focused curriculum with a scaffolded unique progression. Our courses may range from basic instruction (which usually teaches survival skills in the foreign country) to the most sophisticated levels of performance in a particular industry. We have years of experience creating courses, many of which were accredited and praised by the American Council of Education (ACE). Do you need the traditional subjects in foreign language acquisition, like grammar, listening and reading comprehension, speaking or writing? Or, maybe you need something more technical, like transcription, translation, gisting, pronunciation, discourse analysis…
We provide courses on regions or countries (geolects) and on jargon pertaining to different groups of society (sociolects). We consider the following aspects to create our lessons but classes are not limited to study culture, politics, economy, legal issues, technology, science, public policy, health, military affairs, and current events. We understand what it takes and how to achieve high levels of proficiency.
