Language Immersion
Having the opportunity to use a new language in an authentic setting provides unparalleled benefits. A well prepared immersion boosts the level of confidence of the learner who becomes a better “decoder” because it provides a direct exposure to native speakers of that language, to their culture, their mentality, their humor and their way to see the world. It is an incredibly enriching, life-changing experience.
Our faculty can work to create a CONUS immersion with Semper Lingua instructors who will put together the right combination of cultural activities and academic language training or, you can choose the OCONUS immersions that we carry out in target countries, with the collaboration of local universities. The students will attend undergraduate and graduate classes like any other student, which will expose them to an ample array of disciplines in a 100% authentic setting and interact with other (local) students. In the afternoons and weekends, they will have the opportunity to visit important landmarks, museums, restaurants, close-by towns and experience the country’s culture firsthand.
We will work with you to find the best fit, the appropriate duration and the right level of activities that will transform students into more linguistically and culturally competent learners.
